Renting a car with kids

Here are few tips when travelling with children and trying to sort out kids seats for rental car.
Usually proper rental companies do have stock for different types of children seats for different age groups:
Baby seat: 0-2y
Toddler seat: 3-6y
Kid seat: 7-12y
Do not expect to have exotic versions of kids seat to be found, only basic options with or without ISOfix.
